Symplectic dynamics is a field lying on the crossroad of symplectic geometry and dynamical systems. In this course, we give a brief introduction to the symplectic dynamics. We will talk about various mechanisms producing Hamiltonian periodic orbits and the group of Hamiltomorphisms on a symplectic manifold. The following topics will be included:
1. C0 symplectic topology, Hofer norm, Poisson bracket rigidity,
2. Hofer-Zehnder capacity and Gromov’s nonsqueezing theorem,
3. Introduction to Floer theory, Calabi quasi-morphisms.
4. Periodic orbits for Hamiltonian systems defined on cotangent bundles.
