Description:

 

Elementary treatment of modern work involving Gauss-Manin equations. Topics will include definition of the G-M equations, hypergeometric equations, periods, recursion and motivic gamma functions, inhomogeneous solutions, quantum cohomology, mirror symmetry.

 

 

Prerequisite:

 

some knowledge of algebraic geometry over the complex numbers
