The goal of this course is to give a short introduction to dynamics of group actions. We will discuss several notions and results that lie at the intersection of group theory, measure theory, ergodic theory, unitary representation theory, and combinatorics. We will also study their applications to some classical problems which are rooted in different mathematical fields, such as the Banach-Rusiewicz Problem and Expander Graphs.
Basic knowledge in real analysis, functional analysis and abstract algebra.
