In this lecture, I will give an introduction to some topics in differential geometry, which are not traditionally covered by the courses from the Math. Department.



Possible topics are: basic knowledge of Riemannian holonomy group, Kahler manifold, Calabi-Yau manifold, Yau’s theorem of the Calabi conjecture, the Bogomolov-Tian-Todorov theorem, calibrated geometry specifically special lagrangian submanifolds, the semi-flat mirror construction in the Strominger-Yau-Zaslow conjecture.  






Basic Riemannian geometry and algebraic topology. We will develop the necessary PDE and algebraic geometry.






Gross, Huybrechts, Joyce, Calabi-Yau manifolds and related geometries.



Joyce, Riemannian holonomy groups and calibrated geometry.


Douglas, Gross, Dirichlet Branes and Mirror Symmetry.
