The aim of these lectures is to describe the scaling limits necessary to obtain the most important equations in Kinetic Theory, namely the Vlasov, Boltzmann and Landau equations. The results concerning the rigorous derivation of these equations will be presented.





Basic (elementary) measure theory and functional analysis. A basic background in Physics (mechanics and thermodynamics) will help.
