Description:

This course intends to introduce the basic techniques of second order elliptic partial differential equations. Topics include harmonic functions, maximum principles, potential theory, Schauder estimates, Wm,p spaces, quasi-linear elliptic equations of variational type, De Georgi-Nash-Moser estimates and Harnack inequality. If time permits we will solve some model equations in Geometric Analysis as applications of our techniques.

 

Prerequisites:

Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus, Real Analysis

 

Learning Activities:

Students will be asked to read and make presentation on papers related to topics covered in lectures.
