I will give an introductory lectures on deformations theory. I will first introduce the first order deformations, and then higher order ones and obstruction theories. Instead of establishing a very general theory, we will mainly focus on four main important cases: (deformations of) A. subschemes in a fixed ambient nonsingular scheme; B. line bundles over a fixed scheme; C. vector bundles and coherent sheaves over a fixed scheme; D. abstract schemes.

 

 
Prerequisite:
 

It is desirable that students have had a one year course in algebraic geometry. Some familiarity with the scheme theory is necessary.
