Description:

 

This course will focus on digital geometry processing. It teaches how to represent and manipulate geometric objects in computers. As the advance of 3D acquisition technology, there has been a huge development in this area, including both novel mathematical concepts and algorithmic design. The course covers some of the latest developments, including surface reconstruction, mesh simplification, subdivition, parameterization. See the tentative schedule below for more details.

We will provide a code framework so that students do not have to worry about the software infrastructure but are still able to experiment with various algorithms. There will be 4 assignments involving programming, but no exams.

Mathematics: calculus and linear algebra


Computer Science: c/c++ programming and basic data structures
