Description:
Ricci solitons model important singularity formations of the Ricci flow. They are natural extensions of Einstein metrics, or special smooth metric measure spaces with constant Bakry-Emery Ricci curvature. Ricci solitons are also critical points of certain geometric functionals defined by Perelman and others. In this short course, we shall give an introduction to Ricci solitons and present some recent developments on their geometry and classifications.


Prerequisite:
Basics of Riemannian Geometry and Partial Differential Equations.
