In 1968 Ehlers, Geren and Sachs proved a theorem which is now called EGS theorem where basically they showed that isotropy of the matter content of the universe implies isotropy of space-time. Maartens, Ellis and Stoeger later presented a proof in case that the matter content is almost isotropic based on a assumption which is questionable. In this talk I will present recent work in collaboration with Ho Lee where we proof that 'almost EGS theorems' do not hold in general.
