Black Hole Stability
Student No.:30
Time:Mon & Wed 15:20-16:55, Jul.23-Aug.8
Instructor:Jordan Keller
Place:Conference room 3, Jin Chun Yuan West Bldg.
Starting Date:2018-7-23
Ending Date:2018-8-8

Description: We will study Einstein's equations, the fundamental relations of general relativity. Examples of well-known black hole solutions will be provided, after which we will consider their uniqueness as 'equilibria'. Finally, we will discuss ongoing research efforts relating to linear and non-linear stability of the same solutions with respect to the Einstein equations.

Prerequisite: Differential and Riemannian geometry.
