Description: We will study Einstein's equations, the fundamental relations of general relativity. Examples of well-known black hole solutions will be provided, after which we will consider their uniqueness as 'equilibria'. Finally, we will discuss ongoing research efforts relating to linear and non-linear stability of the same solutions with respect to the Einstein equations.

Prerequisite: Differential and Riemannian geometry.
