Mass formula for Shimura curves Student No.： 80 Time： Fri 16:30-17:30, Jun.29 Instructor： 盛茂 Sheng Mao Place： Lecture Hall, 3rd floor of Jin Chun Yuan West Bldg. Starting Date： 2018-6-29 Ending Date： 2018-6-30

Speaker：盛茂 Sheng Mao [中国科学技术大学 University of Science and Technology of China]

Abstract：

The classical Eichler-Deuring mass formula counts the number of $j$-invariants of supersingular elliptic curves over $\bar F_p$. In this talk, I explain its analogue for Shimura curves. This is a recent joint work with Raju Krishnamoothy.

Bio:

I followed Professor Shing-Tung Yau to study Algebraic Geometry at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2000. After my graduation in 2006, I did my postdoc at the University of Mainz and collaborated with Professor Kang Zuo. In 2012, I returned to my mother university, the University of Science and Technology of China, to serve the School of Mathematical Sciences. My special research interest in Algebraic Geometry is Hodge theory and its applications.
